How much share capital has been paid into the Dholera company?

Share capital paid in by the two governments

This page gives the face value of the shares the Gujarat and central governments have paid for in the Dholera development company. Unlike most figures in the accounts it barely moves, and what that stillness means is explained below. The answer is 5 68 332.65 INR lakh for at 31 March 2025, and this page carries three audited years of it so you can see the direction as well as the level.

Each square is one published figure and the line simply joins them. Points sit at their true dates, so a wide gap across the page is a gap in the reporting rather than a slow month.

03

What this figure actually counts

Share capital is the face value of the shares the two government shareholders have paid for. Unlike equity, which moves with profits and losses, this figure only changes when new shares are actually issued and paid for.

What this figure does not tell you

The state paid a large part of its share in land rather than cash, so this figure is not a measure of how much money passed through a bank account.

Definition written by this register. The quantity, its unit and its date are the source's; the explanation is ours and carries no figures of its own.

04

Why it has not changed

This quantity did not change in any of the 3 readings held here, from 31 March 2023 to 31 March 2025. That is a finding rather than an absence of one: the same figure was re-published every time the report was issued. A register records repetition as carefully as it records movement, because a figure that has not moved in a year is the answer to a question people keep asking about this project.

Computed from the dataset by comparing consecutive published readings. Nothing is interpolated between two readings.
