When the state put in land, the centre had to put in a matching amount of cash as share capital. This page tells you how much. It is easy to confuse with the approved construction budget, because the two happen to be exactly the same figure, so this page explains the difference before it shows the number. The answer today is 2 784.83 INR crore, as at 30 June 2026. It has not changed once in the 8 monthly reports held here, going back to 30 June 2025.

What this figure actually counts

Cash equity released to the project company to match the land the State put in. It happens to carry the same rupee value as the approved tender packages, which makes the two easy to confuse and worth keeping apart: one is a sanction to build, the other is share capital paid in. The company's share register reconciles this figure exactly to the central government shareholder.

What this figure does not tell you

Equity released is money inside the company. It says nothing about what the company has spent, and the reports publish no spending line to set against it.

Why it has not changed
